Lust in Space Reviews

Bitten by Books gives Lust in Space 4 Tombstones!

Review date: December 17, 2009
Review rating: 4

From the review:

An erotic romp in the vein of classic science-fiction, Lust in Space is a ton of fun. On one hand, it’s almost cheesy, but that’s half the beauty of it: it’s like serial “B”-movie science fiction, with the occasional moral quandary and a lot of sexuality - the ship, Pandora’s Hope, just might run on erotica....

This is a great story, and I hope to hear more from the bold crew of Pandora’s Hope.

Erotica Revealed gives Lust in Space Two Thumbs Up

Review rating: Two thumbs up

From the review:

I found myself reading this book very slowly because it was so much fun at bed time to come back to its lively and imaginative adventures that sometimes remind you of Rocky and Bullwinkle.
It may help that my other reading is the modern history of the Middle East and a biography of J. P. Morgan.  But still, you get to liking these characters a lot.  They are sexy with a naïve sense of right and wrong just like bad boy, Captain Kirk.  The secret is that Ms. Lane has been able to harness all the cliché’s of TV Scifi, and tease them out to an entertaining place between parody and homage.  Lust in Space provides a lot of fun.  It gives good lift off.

From the review:

When I saw the title “Lust In Space” I am not quite sure what I expected, but I can tell you it is not what I got. The story far exceeded my expectations.  I absolutely adore where Lisa Lane took this story. It will shock you (in a good way) and keep you on your toes as to what is going to happen next. Well worth the time to read, Lust in Space falls into a must have in my book. I hope you take the time to read it for yourself.

4.5 Cherries and Book of the Week at Whipped Cream!

From the review:

Lust in Space is an extraordinary adventure where a reader gets to experience the perils, shocks and surprises found in deep space. Add in some truly inspired erotic and titillating relationships and you are in for a wild voyage.

The first thing that hit me is the character roster. Ms. Lane has written a smorgasbord of delight for any reader who enjoys the unusual, the imaginative and the bold. Alien experiences abound and the author’s depiction of creative bed play will keep you turning the pages. With so many different people on the bridge, that is a lot of ground to cover and clothes to wash.

The story is not without its share of humor and acknowledgement of the space-going adventure series that we’ve been privy to over the past few decades. There is even a clever tweak using a famous author’s name that I didn’t catch until the end of the book. I giggled when I figured it out. And if it was unintentional, well, certainly Mr. Freud would have something to say about that.

Phoebe Jordan Gives Lust in Space 5 Open Books

Reviewer Phoebe Jordan talks about the set-up and pulp sci-fi plot to Lust in Space:

"It's a dangerous yet great opportunity to be able to embark on a journey to uncharted regions of space filled with untold adventures.

"Along the way, the crew endures a space flu that puts the entire ship in a fevered frenzy, alien races that change the crews' perceptions of size, compatibility, and companionship, and hitchhiking shape-shifters that will do just about anything to keep their sensuous human forms. All these different situations happen what seems like one right after another and it is really fast passed but so amazing to read. As the crew endures a lot of different emotions, Nora and Robert can't help but profess their love for one another...but can their love survive a mix-up with the shape-shifters, the unexpected takeover of their ship, and intergalactic war? I certainly think so because they seem like strong and single minded people that can do anything they set their minds to. I really loved reading this novel and I couldn't shut down my laptop until I completely finished reading Lust in Space. Nora and Robert are my favorite characters of this novel but I also really enjoyed all the other characters both human and alien that also filled this novel with adventure and excitement.

"I've never seen "Star Trek" before though Lisa did mention that she came up with this book and the world that it is set in on that old television show. This is a novel that I recommend to everyone to give a try because if you don't you are totally missing out. Lisa Lane delivers a wonderfully intriguing, suspenseful and highly erotic romance novel that will keep you on the edge of your seat and wanting more even after the novel ends. Lisa if you are reading this I would really like it if you could write a sequel to Lust in Space because there is so much that I would really enjoy knowing more about in that world especially with Nora and Robert."
